Challenges -
Building a 200 bedroom hotel, cafe and three restaurants at the Edgbaston Mill opposite the Warwickshire County Cricket Ground (Edgbaston) in the heart of Birmingham and close to new modern apartments has a number of challenges.
Solution -
A delivery schedule was developed to avoid the busiest times in the area and to avoid the additional traffic on match days. Safety Advisors worked closely with Birmingham City Council to establish working times and noise levels. Working with West Midlands Fire and Rescue and the HSE, a fire management strategy plan was developed by Safety Advisors and implemented by the Principal Contractor.
Results -
No complaints from local residents and businesses. No complaints from the HSE or Fire and Rescue Services.
