Challenges -
Situated within a busy commercial district, the offices could not impact on the surrounding businesses. The works involved significant works at height along with manual handling etc.
Solution -
One of the key objectives set, by the site team and Safety Advisors, was NO accidents involving work at height or manual handling. A material distribution plan was developed that allowed material to be machine moved to the point of use. Safety Advisors were heavily involved in the design of the scaffold to allow for material storage without affecting the progress of works. Safety Advisors were appointed CDM co-ordinator and also undertook weekly site visits.
Results -
No accidents as a result of working at height or manual handling.
