Challenges -
As the tallest building in Europe The Shard dominates the London skyline and is a completely unique building in terms of location, the varied uses of the building and the fire strategy. With such a unique building any fire risk arrangements needs to consider the buildings overall fire strategy.
South Hook Gas are critical to the gas supply for the UK and work to the very highest standards and this includes there needs for compliance.
Solution -
Safety Advisors have been involved with fire management in the building for many years and are very knowledgeable in both the fire strategy for the building and the City of London Fire and Rescue’s requirements for high rise buildings.
We put together the original fire risk assessment for the building and so were able to use that knowledge to undertake the fire risk assessment for South Hook Gas. We undertake ongoing reviews of the fire risk assessment and the arrangements in place to ensure they remain suitable for this very prestigious client.
Due to our ongoing input into the business we were able to provide occupational health assessments.
Results -
Compliance with the insurance industry fire prevention requirements. No complaints from the building management team. No false fire alarms. Ongoing support.
