Challenges -
Extension of the existing departure check in area by an extra 13 check in desks and expansion of the baggage handling facility in Terminal 1 at Birmingham International Airport. The work involved security clearance, maintaining security along with working in an operational terminal building.
Solution -
Safety Advisors worked with the Birmingham Airport operators and the principal contractor to establish high levels of security and safety throughout the works with an on-site safety team providing support and monitoring health and safety.
Results -
The work was undertaken without disruption to the terminal. Security maintained.
